WarrantyCam Privacy Policy

Effective date: 29 August 2026 · App package: com.warrantycam

Core posture: WarrantyCam does not operate a developer backend that collects Job or Capture content. Your warranty evidence stays on your device and, if you choose Cloud Sync, in your own cloud account (for example Google Drive). The developer never receives that content through WarrantyCam’s servers — because there are none for Job data.

1. Who we are

WarrantyCam (“the App”) is an Android application for workshop technicians to capture, organise, and share warranty evidence for a Job (keyed by WIP). This policy explains what data is handled on your device, what third-party services you may connect, and what the developer does not collect.

2. What the App stores on your device

Depending on how you use the App, the following may be stored locally on your phone or tablet:

You can delete Jobs and Captures in the App. Uninstalling the App removes local App data on that device; files already in your own cloud remain under your cloud account’s controls.

3. Cloud Sync (your own cloud)

If you enable Cloud Sync with Google Drive, Captures and Job metadata are uploaded to folders in your Google account. The App uses Google Sign-In / Drive APIs so the App can create and update those folders on your behalf. That content is not sent to a WarrantyCam server.

Your use of Google Drive (or any future cloud provider) is also governed by that provider’s own terms and privacy policy.

4. Sharing and Warranty Hub Submission

When you use Warranty Hub Submission or other share actions, the App opens the Android system share sheet with your Evidence Package and a short WIP/registration summary. You choose the destination (for example Microsoft Teams or email). The developer does not intermediary that handoff.

Drive Link Share (when available) copies or sends the URL of the Job’s folder in your Google Drive. Colleagues who open that link access content according to your Drive sharing permissions — not through WarrantyCam servers.

5. Purchases (Pro)

Optional Pro features are sold as a monthly subscription through Google Play Billing. Payment details are processed by Google; the App receives entitlement status so it can unlock Pro features. The developer does not receive your full payment card details through the App.

6. Permissions the App may request

Permissions are used for the features above, not to feed a developer analytics backend with Job content.

7. What we do not collect

If this posture changes in a future version (for example a developer-operated sync service), this policy will be updated before that behaviour ships, and the in-app Privacy Policy link will point to the revised text.

8. Children

WarrantyCam is intended for adult workshop / technician use. It is not directed at children.

9. International use

Data you store on-device stays on that device. Data you sync to Google Drive (or share via the system share sheet) is processed under the locations and policies of those services and of the recipients you choose.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the App evolves. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
